On a sunny late summer day goes on Sunday, September 21 Mother, I Want For Revue premiered at the Beatrix Theater in Utrecht. The show takes the audience into the 50s Bob, the son of a sober Limburg coal merchant, really wanna be with the revue. He encounters many misunderstandings with his family, but persevere. There he meets brother and sister Hogendoorn, as old hands in the box, the revue alive trying to keep up …
The stars of the show, Simone Kleinsma and Jon Eerd, are great together as brother and sister a love / hate relationship. What they call the public’s that old sense of the revue and theater. You really feel like in earlier times. Both Kleinsma as Van Eerd shine in their roles, a joy to see. Fortunately, the show is well balanced and not drowning in the big show numbers. These are beautifully mixed with quieter music and game scenes. However, the decor is super modern. Extensive use is made of projections, which are very smaakvolzijn and contribute to the story.

This show is really for the whole family. The generation that has lived through the 50s will certainly appreciate from a nostalgic point of view and visibility, but also the youth will embrace it because of the nice revue and dance, songs and humor. After seeing this show, you might want for one thing … At the Revue!
