Eye film museum honors artist Kees Hin – NU.nl

His work, according to the museum a treasure that reflects half a century of Dutch history and culture. The almost octogenarian filmmaker has its archives transferred to Eye. Out to see these 110 titles from 15 to 17 January a selection.

Also, the film Inn of the memory by Barbara den Uyl about Hin premiere. Here the filmmaker takes in one of the deposits of Eye all his work, as his provocative experiments and collaborations with artists like K. Schippers and Otto Ketting. He also discusses the permanent presence of war in his films and the need he felt to play with reality.

Hin (1936) this year is exactly fifty years in the business. He began his career in 1962 as assistant to the world-famous filmmaker Bert Haanstra and made in 1965 his directorial debut with the documentary Underground over the Dutch Petroleum Company .
