On May 6, the anniversary of Dietrich’s theater The Zonnehuis the play In bed with Edith and Marlene premiere.
This new musical theater production from writer and director Daniel Cohen talks about the intense friendship between the two illustrious women.
The idea for this production comes from Irene Cooper and Frédérique Sluyterman van Loo, who take the leading roles on their behalf. Actor Ger Otte plays the roles of all the men in their lives and provides the musical accompaniment. All their big hits are addressed, often given a new look.
Nocturnal meeting
The show tells of a nocturnal encounter between Piaf and Dietrich. During an intense conversation it becomes clear how different the two women in life and how they deal with their status as an icon.
