Hundreds of thousands at first Rolling Stones concert in Cuba – NU.nl

The Brits kicked their concert with the hit Jumpin ‘Jack Flash in 1968. In that year shared Cuban rock fans secretly vinyl together and ran as the risk of being put to work in rural areas because of “ideological deviation”.

“we know that years ago here was very difficult to listen to our music, but we’re here to play. times change my view,” said Mick Jagger in Spanish to the public.

Some fans of the world famous group had already eighteen hours before the free concert gathered at the sports stadium Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana. There are no official numbers yet known, but according to Cuban state media there was room for 500,000 people. The venue was almost full

After the opening song Jumpin ‘Jack Flash followed by it’s Only Rock’ n Roll (But I Like It) . The show ended with two extra songs. The last song the band played Satisfaction .
