HENGELO – For Desserts Masters in Hengelo in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday a very large fire raged. The premises of the former Van der Poel factory on the Turbinestraat is thereby completely burnt. Local residents have been temporarily evacuated.
The fire department has given the signal for firing master anything for four hours. It’s the building where formerly Van der Poel Desserts in it and now THE Dessert Masters hot.
Two flats had to be evacuated because of the nearby Weideweg transfer risk. The fire has to be prevented, and the residents were allowed back home around 4:15 pm.
Pyjama
The residents were collected at the Guild College, which is located nearby. Some had not had time to put on their clothes and went from home in their pajamas.
Commercial
A total of eight fire engines fought the fire. The fire had thereby split into two teams. One team fighting the fire in the premises, the other group tried to prevent the fire spread to the flats on the Weideweg.
Smoking
There were thick, to see black smoke plumes blew in the direction of the track and Borne. The fire department had an sent an NL-Alert. The fire service advised to close windows and doors and turn off ventilation systems.
Coffee and tea
In total there were 39 homes evacuated: flats – with twice eighteen apartments – and three low-rise housing. Concierge Roy Kruijswijk Guild College was a quarter past one in the night call from the fire department. He opened the school and the evacuated residents with coffee and tea.
Lighted
An expedition member of The Dessert Master Hengelo B.V. suspects that the fire ignited. The employee had until midnight service in the company 24 hours worked per day. All the people who were present in the house, could get away on time. According to the employee, there were pallets where ice is transported next door. ,, It can not be otherwise than that they are ignited. “In addition, the company had a nitrogen tank. The employee feared explosion of the tank, but the fire department indicated that there was a risk of explosion.
