Ukraine wins Eurovision Song Contest, Netherlands eleventh – NU.nl

The last time Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2004, when singer Ruslana went there with the profit away with Wild Dances .

Netherlands reached the eleventh position the number Slow Down of singer-songwriter Douwe Bob. The last time the Netherlands won the Sonfestival was held in 1975 Ding-A- Dong Teach-In.

The Eurovision Song Contest is thus in Ukraine next year, the exact location will be announced later

Scoring

This year was the score unlike other years, making the results to the end was exciting. Netherlands got 153 points, 114 of the jury and 39 of television viewers, each determined half the number of votes.

The publication of votes had an exciting course. Australia was to get the jury first by far, but knew the public would not have enough points for a first place. The country participated for the second time.

The Song of Ukraine was charged and politically sensitive. It was about the deportation of Crimean Tatars by the Soviet Union and telling the personal story of the singer

Stockholm

the 61st Eurovision song Contest was broadcast from the Swedish capital Stockholm, after the victory of Måns Zelmerlöw with the song Heroes a year earlier.

the song festival was aired this year in China and for the first time live in the US
