Special Jury Prize for animated Dudok de Wit in Cannes – NU.nl

The wordless animated film about a man stranded on a desert island won the Special Jury Prize of the program section Un Certain Regard.

The Dutch director Michael Dudok de Wit worked for almost ten years to the movie, he made a major Japanese animation producer Ghibli. The director won fifteen years ago an Oscar for his short animated film Father and daughter .

Michael Dudok de Wit comes after the festival Cannes to the Netherlands on June 20 The Red Turtle will premiere at cinema Eye in Amsterdam. The film will be shown from July 7 in Dutch cinemas
