Rogue one was directed by Brit Gareth Edwards ( Samples, Godzilla) and builds directly on the Star wars: a new hope (1977). In the written prologue of the film, is spoken about by rebels have stolen plans of a powerful weapon for slaughter. In this new adventure, we learn these thieves of close to know.

    Rebels

Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is the daughter of the scientist (Mad Mikkelsen) who, under duress, the so-called Death Star designed. She was but a child when her father by the imperial troops was drained and since then it has they need to survive. To the mutually spaced rebels in her a valuable pawn to the empire thwart. But then it soon becomes apparent that they are far too self-willed to himself to chess.

Erso performs eventually a bunch of rebellious rebels, among whom also Cassion Andor (Diego Luna), are robothulpje K-2SO (Alan Tudyk) and the blind kung fu master Chirrut Imwe, played by Hong Kong star Donnie Yen. On their own, they decide the plans of the Death Star from the heavily guarded imperial archives to steal. And then their almost risky mission leads to a long and exciting fight on the planet Scariff.

    Climax

That spectacular climax, almost to the fragmented and sometimes even chaotic run-up of this new adventure forget. Director Edwards opts for a rawer, more realistic approach than the other Star Warsmovies. That is refreshing, though it suffers the humor there. The inappropriate comments of robot K-2SO and the comic, supercooled attitude of Chirrut Imwe compensate for that loss but partially.

Fortunately, the acting especially from Felicity Jones and imperial villain Ben Mendelsohn does a lot of good. Also on the impressive effects, there is little to notice. Everything is possible, so it seems. All appear to be the digital stand-ins of Peter Cushing (Tarkin) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) in Rogue one, is still just a bridge too far.
