That made known her son. Ellen Marie Elze Vogel was born on January 26, 1922 in The Hague, to parents who were both nominated artists and at the age of 20 went to drama school. She made her debut in 1945 and played until 1971 when the Dutch Comedie.

The actress has been married three times, with actor Hans Tobi with whom she son Peter Paul was with Fons Rademakers and Jimmy Münninghoff . He died in 2012. Ellen and Jimmy were then nearly forty years together, of which married 36 years.
