Douwe Bob enters Tuesday in a tough semifinal with many favorites. Yet we have absolute confidence in the 23-year-old singer-songwriter and his song Slow Down on the Televizier editors. In that case, we can next Saturday during the final again in front of the TV with a red-white-blue flag.
But what artists Douwe Bob must first defeat in his semifinal? Dt is the competition in order of appearance.
1. Finland Sandhja – Sing it away
On singer Sandhja
the daunting task of Contest to enter Finland. Her song does not amount to much, and the same goes for her choice of clothing. Sing it away is cheerful and upbeat but unfortunately quickly forgotten. Singing can this lady indeed, but the finale seems far away for Finland.
2. Greece Argo – Utopian country
Argo mean it certainly good, but this song about a Greece is not utopian to hear. It is sung in English, rapped in the Greek press and musicianship in many Greek-sounding instruments. ‘W e are the rise in the rising sun dance, with us and have some fun ‘, they sing. This number probably Greece even deeper plunging the crisis.
3. Moldova Lidia Isac – Falling stars
Here is the first of many eastern candidates but certainly not the best. Lidia sings a dime-a-dozen-dance number and they do not have enough charisma to lift it above the average. It would be a surprise if Falling stars in the finals.
4. Hungary Freddie – Pioneer
A power ballad from the Hungarian Freddie a nice raw edge has by his voice. Freddie looks good and his song may be there. Point of criticism: Pioneer seems to be a song with a message, but what that is, we unfortunately never know by Freddies lousy English pronunciation
Not at all miserable submission of Croatia for the first time since 2013 again participate in the Contest. Nina has a separate, beautiful voice and the song is attractive and pleasant to listen to. Fat chance Lighthouse will save it in the semi-finals.
6. Netherlands Douwe Bob – Slow Down
And there is our very real Douwe Bob. The criticism of Slow Down is that it is a little boring. On the other hand, you can sing along immediately after the first chorus, country’s awfully and Douwe Bob is engaging, charismatic and always well dressed. So we walk this year no risk of a tear dress affair a la Trijntje. Douwe Bob goes to the finals, write that down.
7. Armenia Iveta Mukuchian – Love Wave
It starts off promising, with a spoken intro and a beautiful couplet. Then it becomes a soup mess with a lot of noise and a strange instrument in the middle. Iveta is very beautiful, that’s about the only thing that can help her lap.
8. San Marino Serhat – I dont know
An unadulterated disco pestle! The hat adorned with Serhat sounds like a kind of Serge Gainsbourg. He does not sing but talk. For there to make some of it has opened up a whole can dancers. I dont know all in all very entertaining, but also about all.
9. Russian Sergey Lazarev – You are the only one
The undisputed favorite with the bookmakers! Thunder and lightning, it’s getting exciting , Sergey sings in this energetic song. And that’s true in part. Boring it is certainly not with this Russian who is also doing a complicated dance to. But whether it is best to offer the contest this year?
10. Republic Gabriela Gunčíková – I Stand
A strong ballad of the country which never reached the final, but I stand could work best once. Singer Gabriela came second at the Czech Idols and can sing a pretty jar. The song starts quietly and then swells nice bombastic in the chorus. Exactly how Eurovision fans to see it.
11. Cyprus Minus One – Alter Ego
Rock Bands with tough men guitars are unfortunately scarce at the Eurovision Song Contest but this is one. Minus One has a catchy pop song that hopefully kick far. Cyprus would like once again to create a surprise in this Contest.
12. Austria Zoe – Loin d’ici
A confusing this issue, the Austrian submission is entirely sung in French. Something they do not so enthusiastic in Austria about. But the song is quite palatable. As long Zoë sounds like a tempting French sigh girl is all fine, but at the end she flies a little out of control.
13. Estonia Jüri Pootsmann – Play
Estonia has opted for a charming and understated number. And that’s a different cookie as Louis van Gaal would say. While many other countries at the Eurovision Song Contest on shouting is Jüri with remarkably low voice calm himself. Finals worthy.
14. Azerbaijan Samra Rahimli – Miracle
A simple catchy song without many bells or whistles that all would be fitting in any Top 40 Samra can sing good looks nice, so in that respect it is also good. Azerbaijan has the final on his slippers, there is no need to wonder.
15. Montenegro Highway Trio – The real thing
Straightforward hard rock at the Eurovision Song Contest. You do not often hear. And in this case is that a good thing. The real thing is a monotonous and boring number, otherwise we can not like it. That the singer is hiding behind the whole song a hoodie does not help.
16. Iceland Greta Salome – Hear them calling
Greta is a Eurovision veteran, in 2012, she did it for Iceland . When Greta was 20 th , but they would be with this song may well go over it. Hear them calling is smooth, with lots of drums and Greta is eagerly used all kinds of special effects on stage.
17. Bosnia and Herzegovina Deen & amp; Dalal – Ljubav you
A typical Balkan ballad with cello, lots of drums and a catchy chorus. Dane and Dalal singing in the Bosnian Herzegoviaans and what you hear these days? By the end of the song suddenly beeps an angry rapper on stage and that makes for a submissive anti-climax in this mediocre song.
18. Malta Ira Losco – Walk on Water
Another Song Contest veteran. Ira Losco knew the songs festival almost in her name to write in 2002. Now she is trying it with this pop song which is good to listen to. A lot of news is not under the sun, but Ira can with Walk on Water probably just enough to persuade people to pick up the phone and vote for her.
