This is the umpteenth disastrous for the program. A couple of weeks ago it was announced that the eighth season of the best reviewed British program ever, and no longer by the BBC would be sent out but by the commercial station Channel 4. Fans were furious because they find that the program at the public broadcaster should remain.
Presenters Sue and Mel had to know right away not to go to Channel 4, but Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood, the British versions of all of Holland Bakes-panel Janny van der Heijden, and Robèrt van Beckhoven, remained silent.
Mary (81) late today to the BBC to know that they, out of loyalty” to the broadcaster. She finds that her talents there, cherished” and mentions Bake Off ,,from the beginning, a unique format”.
Her colleague Paul Hollywood (50) – as the only – or to Channel 4. ,,For so long an important part of my life and that I can’t just turn my back on.”
Lucrative
For Love Productions, the production company that the Bake Off conceived, the switch is more than lucrative. Channel 4 offered the production company 75 million pounds (87 million euro) for three years, three times as much as the BBC. This made the transition a fact.
Love Productions and Channel 4 can now per episode more than 1 million pounds (1.2 million euros) on advertising, earn revenue, making the program one time the most lucrative program in British television history.
