VICE launches own tv channel in the Netherlands – Telegraaf.nl

    In the first quarter of 2017 should VICELAND to receive in the Netherlands. The director and the “oscar” Italian Spike Jonze takes the programming for the account. The transmitter will be Dutch productions.

    VICE Media wants to be with VICELAND, the audience is millennials 24 hours per day, with stories from all over the world with the VICE distinctive look at the youth culture with topics such as music, food, drugs, identity, sex, fashion and sport. “We have the ambition to be the most talked-about stories in fresh and innovative ways to teach millennials, and this step ensures that we are raising the bar for ourselves even higher,” explains Benelux CEO Thijs Boon.

    The station is already busy with a launch in the U.S., Canada, and the u.k. and later this year also in France, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. In the Netherlands it will be the channel via Ziggo, it is still unknown on which station that is. The content for the channel is created by Dutch and Belgian teams.
