Sting reopens affected Bataclan theatre in Paris – NOS

The proceeds from the gig will go to two charities for victims of the attacks.

The British singer Pete Doherty and the Senegalese singer Youssou N’dour act respectively on 16 and 18 november at the Bataclan. Initially would Doherty the first artist in the reopened theatre, but the performance of Sting is there for.

The Bataclan theatre was one of the targets of the attacks in Paris on the evening of Friday 13 november, during a performance by Eagles of Death Metal. Supporters of Islamic State had also equipped it with some bars, restaurants and the football stadium. In total they killed 130 people.

The Bataclan was since the attacks was closed and extensively renovated. Last week was the new façade shown to the public. On 13 november, exactly a year after the bloody drama, a commemorative plaque was unveiled.
