The Dap-Kings singer Sharon Jones (60) death – NU.nl

“We are deeply saddened to have to report that Sharon Jones has passed away after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones, among whom the Dap-Kings”, to let survivors know on the website of the American singer.

In 2013, was diagnosed with cancer at Jones, where she nine months later, healed. In 2015 came the disease back with metastases to several organs.

Jones gained only at the age of 46 awareness, when in 2002 her first album with The Dap-Kings released. Since then, lent her vocals to songs from Michael Bublé, Lou Reed and Rufus Wainwright, while her backing band recordings made for albums of Amy Winehouse and David Byrne. Recently she was also seen in the Netflix series Luke Cage. Therein she sang the song 100 Days, 100 Nights.

Effort
