Sony shows 4k hdr tv’s in different formats – Tweakers

Sony has at CES in addition to its new oled range of different 4k hdr tvs announced that use lcd panels. The largest sizes in this series 75″models. In addition, Sony still hdr-tvs with full-hd resolution.

In the new 4k hdr-XE94-series, Sony announced a 75″model, which is provided with a direct backlight. The model runs on Android TV, and makes use of the ’4K HDR X1 Extreme’processor, which is also in the already announced oled-models. This property shares the series with the XE93 models, which, however, led backlight four sides in place of the direct variant. In that series, comes Sony with two models: 55″ and 65″. All models must be flat on the wall-mountable, according to Sony.

In the following line, the X90 series, comes Sony with models of the 49″, 55″, 65″ and 75″ which is also in the 4k hdr category. These make use of the 4k HDR X1 processor. This series is similar to the XE85 series, in which models of 55″, 65″ and 75″. The difference is that the XE90-line features, ” X-extended Dynamic Range Pro, which should ensure improved representation of both hdr – as regular content by the backlight to adapt on different schermzones. Also these models are equipped with Android TV.

The last 4k hdr models are part of the XE80 series, that of the just mentioned models is different due to lack of the same processor and X-extended Dynamic Range Pro. In this line, there are models of, 43″, 49″ and 75″.

The full-hd offering from Sony consists in total of four series, in which all models also offer support for hdr. In the WE75-series Sony 43″ and 49″models, that with the 4k models have in common that they have Triluminos displays, which are based on quantum dot technology. In addition, Sony with a 32″set in the WE61-line, in addition to 40″ and 49″models in the WE66-series. The above series offer support for services like YouTube and Netflix, while the last RE45-line, which consists of a 40″model, does not.
