Zwagerman fascinated by suicide – Telegraaf.nl

In February this year, Joost Zwagerman donated his entire literary archive the Literary Museum in The Hague. In retrospect, a bad omen. It seems to have been the prelude to his self-chosen death. Zwagerman (51) had suffered for years from depression and also wrote about it, including in De Volkskrant

Joost Zwagerman was fascinated by the phenomenon of suicide. He has articles and even a book by their own hands transcribed.

In this work he lets family members of suicide bombers in the word. “I realize that children of suicides more likely also ever manually save himself.”
