The event, which over the last two weeks was held in the Canadian city, was created to bring international, non-English language films to the attention of North America.

De Ruyter (1607-1676) is one of the most famous heroes in Dutch history. He played a crucial role in the first three Anglo-Dutch Wars. The main roles in the epic are played by Frank Lammers, Barry Atsma, Egbert-Jan Weeber and Sanne Langelaar.
The film this year was the best-attended Dutch films in the cinemas, with nearly 800,000 visitors.
