The website of Eye Film Institute is on Friday hours poorly accessible by the rush for tickets for the 70mm version of The Hateful Eight, the new film from director Quentin Tarantino.
This was confirmed by a spokesman for Eye. In the first two hours since the announcement were sold over five hundred cards.
The Film Institute is working with might and main to display the website as fast as possible ‘bandwidth’. Because the site is out there regularly, Eye is also ringing off the hook with people wanting tickets. At the desk of the building Friday afternoon put down extra staff to handle the demand.
Eye is the only cinema in the Benelux The Hateful Eight shows in 70mm format. It is very special that Tarantino has turned his film on 70mm, a format that is no longer used. This version is also another assembly than the version seen in the other cinemas and lasts over six minutes longer.
