a Few days after the release of Control organized Kensington a oefenavondje in the form of a secret concert at The Slope in hometown Utrecht, the netherlands. The making of photos and videos was strictly prohibited. Fortunately, Melissa (21), Nienke (20) and Remco (23) tell us what it was.
Special for the real fans
Via a fanpage on Facebook, the band the action, al ONLY half an hour before the start of the sale. This were only the real diehards that night in The Ramp.
Tell, how was it!?
Melissa: “It was fantastic! You first heard the new songs live, and see them in a unique small setting. Maybe even more fun than in a big Ziggo Dome. You have really the idea that you are with them on the stage.”
Nienke: “It is so cool to see them in such a small room. Last they were, of course, at 3FM in the A’dam Tower, and now this. That their stadiongeluid also works so well in a small setting is super fat.”
Setlist Kensington The Slope
Kensington exercised really for the Ziggo Dome. All the new songs that they played are going to hear. What that be? Nienke: “Among other ‘Regret’, ‘Do I Ever’, ‘Bridges’, ‘Sorry’, ‘St. Helena’ and ‘Fiji’.”
How was it to no photos and videos? Melissa: “It was actually fine that you were required to that phone in your pocket. Then you can really enjoy and in the moment. And oh, ‘Little Lights’ went just the strobes, and according to me everyone is filming, haha.”
Remco must admit that he did sneak some pictures…
Highlights
Melissa, Nienke and Remco had all three the same height; the beginning and end of the show. The band started with ‘Regret’ and ended with ‘St. Helena’ (the new standard in valve and replacement of ‘Little Lights’), the two hard hits from the album. Remco: “When everything went completely broke!”
What did Kensington itself?
The boys were able to find the change once on the bike to a gig. Also good told guitarist Casper. In addition, it gave the fans the chance to be with the men to talk.
It was an intense and exciting week for the boys with every night RTL Late Night and Control that came out. This was the perfect evening to get everything finally together and the tension to let loose. The only thing still missing? Eloi (singer): “but just Wait until you all visuals will be seen in the Ziggo Dome. That’s just grand!”
