‘Substitute’ Bob Dylan blundert during award ceremony of the Nobel prize – The Guardian

Bob Dylan played today by absence at the award ceremony of the Nobel prizes in Stockholm. The American singer and songwriter, had already let you know that, due to other obligations was not able to the literary prize itself, to take receipt. The singer during the ceremony, however, a song Dylan sang was flashy the fog in.

Although Dylan (75) was absent, the audience was treated to his song A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall. That was sung by the singer Patti Smith, who is so nervous that she was a part of the song twice had to sing.

,,that again? Sorry, I’m so nervous”, said the singer after she was silent (see the video below around the 2 minute 10 seconds). After deafening applause from the audience she made the song still.

Poetry
Dylan was awarded the Nobel prize for his poetic creations in the American liederentraditie. He took two weeks before he had a response he gave, to the chagrin of some stakeholders.

Of any resentment, was today nothing more to notice. Professor Horace Engdahl of the Swedish Academy praised the singer in a speech as one of the greatest artists from the history of the world. ,,Dylan has our idea changed of what poetry can be and how it works.”
