The prosecution dismisses the declaration of mayor Onno Hoes Maastricht against broadcasting Powned and the one who made hidden camera footage of him. According to the public are not committed criminal offenses.

The program was broadcast images of a privéontmoeting of hoes with a young man (20), which were filmed with a hidden camera, commissioned by Powned. Pouch was not aware here. The OM was recording the encounters are not punishable, because the young man himself took part in the talks. Thereby transmitting the images is not an offense. The declaration of libel and defamation have been dropped.

‘Very controversial publication

Hoes announced in December his departure as mayor of Maastricht for its broadcasts. Earlier, there were reports of an affair Cover with another young man. They became a public issue when the question arose whether he made himself vulnerable to blackmail. In a statement presented Cover:

“The city is struggling enormously with the consequences of a highly controversial press publication, and that struggle, I can the city, its board and myself no longer call . (…) Last week a part of my personal life to my dismay become willful and shameless public. (…) I will contend that a public administrator is not an outlaw is declared and there remains a certain private property, so that they are balanced and can fulfill its function. “

Fitted files complaint

Hoes does not agree with the decision of the Public Prosecutor. He stretches out a procedure at the Amsterdam Court to enforce prosecution yet, so his lawyer to news agency ANP announced. Hoes thinks the OM the “wrong signal” emits people “who hold a public office or otherwise in the interest are manifestly fair game.”

“The prosecution has seen the clear facts sufficiently indicate why prosecution in this case would not be possible. “
