Sweden got 365 points. Russia finished second with 303 points. The third place went to Italy, Belgium and the fourth for the fifth rookie to Australia. Germany and host country Austria each received zero points and thus end up last.

Booing
Although Russia, almost traditionally, had many points of neighboring countries, there was loud boos in the audience when Russia got twelve points. The votes of the juries from Macedonia and Montenegro are still disqualified for unknown reasons, reports Eurovision Press.
Also this year, the ‘big five’ fared worse. Italy ended although the top 3, but Germany, France, Britain and Spain were stranded near the bottom in scoring. These countries are in advance in the finals because of their large financial contribution to the Contest.
Dress
Netherlands was not in the final, because Trijntje Oosterhuis was with her song Walk Alon g in the semi-final. Sister Olivia Lewis gave on behalf of the Netherlands points during the finals and was wearing the dress criticized Oosterhuis. Netherlands gave twelve points in Belgium.
