Sunday was a big explosion in an apartment at the Julich Street in Venlo. That happened around 20:30. This was followed by a second explosion. There is at least one severely injured cases. The man was taken to hospital with burns. The cause may be a gas leak
.
The fire department arrived with heavy equipment on site. Also an ambulance was called.
The havoc to the six-storey building is huge. Thus, both the front and rear side of at least one property blown out. Several apartments are uninhabitable.
Around hundred residents hastily evacuated, Lord Mayor of Venlo Antoin Scholten know. They are temporarily housed in a nearby community center, but most can return home. The building has 96 apartments. The residents of five apartments – exploded above the house – can not go back
The Red Cross is involved in the care of the residents.. This allows them to register people and help to regulate medicines. Also, people of Victim attended
