Céline Dion took Friday farewell to her husband and explorer René Angélil, who last week at 73 age died after a lengthy battle against throat cancer. Fans all over the world were able to watch the funeral live over the internet.
The funeral took place at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal where Canadian singer her husband 21 years ago, it yes. Dion walked hand in hand with their five-year-old twin sons Nelson and Eddy in the church and laid flowers on the coffin of Angélil.
Their eldest son René-Charles of fourteen came in with the mother of Dion. The teenager later held an emotional speech in which he praised to be happy grew up in a family with so much love. “I love you, Daddy,” René-Charles said both French and English.
Hundreds of fans, relatives, friends, politicians and stars were there to support the grieving family. During the funeral were played several tracks from Dion, including All the Way and Trois Heures Vingt. Thursday was already held a vigil for Angélil.
