Eagles founder Glenn Frey deceased – NU.nl

Frey was the last time ill. He died in New York from complications due to pneumonia and arthritis.

Eagles was founded in 1971. The band still performed, so the musicians played in May 2014 in the Ziggo Dome. The most famous song of the band’s Hotel California.

Frey was co-author of the most Eagles -hits including Take it Easy , Tequila Sunrise, Lyin Eyes and Heartache Tonight. The band got Frey six Grammy Awards.

Solo

After the Eagles in 1980 temporarily disbanded, Frey had a successful solo career. He scored numerous hits, including The Heat is On and You belong to the City. In 2012 he released his last solo album After Hours .

Frey also gained fame as an actor with a recurring role in the popular TV series Miami Vice.

“He was like a brother to me,” said Eagles- singer Don Henley in a statement. “We have built something that lasted longer than we ever dreamed. Glenn was the one who started it, the man with the plan.”
