Red Hot Chili Peppers received a Gold Record for The Getaway – 3FM – Radio

And they were very happy! Just look at the photos:

The Getaway is already the eleventh studio album of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their previous album I’m With You is already from a while ago, 2011 to be exact. ‘The Getaway’ had actually previously should come true, but the pictures have in between eight months was suspended for a while.

How?

Singer Anthony Kiedis put on a Peppers-fansite out why it took so long:

“This record was more difficult than the previous plates. We had twenty or thirty songs written and were ready to go, and then came bassist Flea his arm snowboarding. Further recording was not more and then stepped to the producer. You can imagine that we felt a bit lost felt.

But then it came, like a gift from heaven, Danger Mouse to us. ‘Let’s go make a record,” he said. We all the way through the rabid and showed him all of our songs to hear. ‘Please leave them here,” he said, ” we are going to new tracks in the studio. Shit. But we wanted to work with him, so we have all those tracks in the hell but in the trash thrown, and with him of a kind of cliff jumped off. And that worked!”

Poor Flea

Huh, eight months doing nothing because you have your arm breaks? Well, Flea broke not just his arm. If you like the Peppers ever live have seen, you know that Flea everything just a bit more extreme. He broke his arm in five places, there were pieces of bone in his arm where they’re not supposed to sit and he had six months to convalesce. Ouch.

producer

The band made the previous six albums with producer Rick Rubin, but during this album, he went on. Fortunately, there was Danger Mouse, who you may know from a side project of Gnarls Barkley. He previously worked with Gorillaz and The White Stripes and has, according to the Red Hot Chili Peppers ensured that the new album is innovative, but also as the Peppers sounds.

‘Go Robot’

The track ‘Go Robot’ is likely to be the third single of the album. The song is inspired by ‘Controversy’ by Prince. ‘Go Robot’ is the favorite song of bassist Flea, and he wanted that track as first single release. The rest of the band wanted to go for ‘The Getaway’, but by producer Danger Mouse, was finally chosen for “the Dark Necessities’.

Partnerships

‘Sick Love’, the sixth track on the album, you hear a rather unexpected collaboration. Elton John is on that song behind the piano. The Peppers have long been a fan of Elton John and the singer worked with many different artists together. When the band heard that he was in the same city, they immediately get in contact.

Another one that you wouldn’t expect: the video of “the Dark Necessities’ is directed by actress Olivia Wilde, who you may know from The O. C., House or Tron: Legacy.
