With the confirmation of SYSTEM of A DOWN, there is another name added to the program of the Pinkpop festival 2017. At the beginning of this week was already known that Green Day this summer to Landgraaf.
Armenian roots
System of a Down was founded in 1994 in Hollywood, and consists of vocalist Serj Tankian, guitarist Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and drummer John Domayan. The members of the band have Armenian roots, which is clearly reflected in the music of the band. System of a Down is not troubled to political themes and social events in her tracks to process, so going to be the biggest hit of the band ‘Chop Suey’, from 2001, about the genocidecrisis in Armenia. “Our goal has been to stay open to whatever currents guide us through our lives – musically, thematically, in every way, to be ourselves,” says vocalist Serj Tankian. “Our songs and themes range from political to social to daily fear to love to hate to dope.”
The 48th edition of the Pinkpop festival again, familiar place during the Whitsun weekend on Saturday 3, Sunday 4 and Monday 5 June 2017 on the festival site of Megaland in Landgraaf. The traditional press presentation with the announcement of the program will take place on Wednesday 8 march 2017 in the pop temple Paradiso in Amsterdam. The start of the presale is scheduled on Saturday, 11th march 2017.
