Soul singer Ben E. King, known from the classic ‘Stand By Me’ is deceased at the age of 76. This was reported by the BBC.
King began his career in late fifties with The Drifters. Songs from that time included “There Goes My Baby” and “Save The Last Dance For Me ‘.
His first hit as a solo artist King scored with ‘Spanish Harlem’ in 1961. Soon after ‘Stand By Me’, where King took out worldwide with the charts.
