The box contains apart from the original double album The River never officially released the The River: Single Album and the CD The River: Outtakes showing studio sessions from 1979 and 1980.
The River is the fifth album by Bruce Springsteen. The album was released as a double album on October 17, 1980 and debuted at number one in the US charts. The River: Single Album was incorporated in 1979 and was intended to record the successor of Darkness On The Edge Of Town in 1978. The album was never released, according to Springsteen missed intensity and finally came seven of the ten songs on The River justly, but with different lyrics and arrangements.
The three DVDs consist of a double DVD with the occurrence of Springsteen in Tempe, Arizona in 1980, rehearsal recordings of the tour and the new sixty-minute documentary The Ties That Bind when Bruce Springsteen talks about the recording process of The River .
