The Italian Gatti begins in season 2016/2017, made the orchestra on Friday.

Gatti studied composition and conducting at the convervatorium Giuseppe Verdi in his hometown of Milan. Since September 2008 he has been chief conductor of the Orchestre National de France. Previously he has worked in London, Rome, Zurich and Bologna. He was also the first guest conductor at Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London.
The conductor is not unknown in the Netherlands. He is a regular guest at include the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
In addition to the symphonic repertoire, opera is an important pillar of the career of Gatti. He led many new opera productions in the large opera houses.
Daniele Gatti also has an exclusive recording contract with Sony. His first recordings for that label with the Orchestre National de France include among others the work of Debussy and Stravinsky. Last spring appeared dvd François Girard’s Parsifal production which he led in New York.
