Over half a million for John Lennon Guitar – Telegraaf.nl

The guitar John Lennon used to the Beatles ‘hit’ Paperback Writer ‘to write in 1966, goes under the hammer. The owner is counting on a relatively low price

The value of a guitar by John Lennon, who would later be auctioned this month may well yield 750,000.

Lennon used the guitar include the Abbey Road studios for the song ‘Paperback Writer’ to write. That was in 1966 on the album “Revolver.”

The Gretch 6120 was a gift from Lennon to his cousin David Birch in 1967, “I was impertinent enough to ask if I was not one of his guitars spare him should have, “Birch told the British newspaper The Telegraph.

“I had my eye on a blue Fender Stratocaster which was in the studio, but John suggested the Gretsch before and gave it to me while we were talking.” The musical is currently on name of two people: Lennon and Birch.

The estimated value of the guitar is 600,000 pounds (765,000 euros).
