Fine Sinterklaas Journal for wrapping paper – Telegraaf.nl

AMSTERDAM –

Nicholas Journal has much attention in 2013 devoted to his own wrapping paper and the ‘real’ staff of Saint Nicholas. Which were commercially available and therefore there is advertising, finds the Media Commission. That broadcaster NTR given a fine of 150,000 euros

.

The Commissioner made the penalty announced Saturday. The media watchdog says that the NTR had permission to make the wrapping paper and the staff and to sell, but it Sinterklaas Journal no attention was spent on. According to the Commissioner did, however, structural. Moreover, it was aimed at children under twelve, hence the heavy fines.

The NTR can still object to the commissioner against the fine. If that is not effective, the broadcaster can go to court. Broadcaster’s Paul Romer said in the AD Saturday that he will not accept the punishment. “All was fine but a tenner, I would still challenge that principle.”

Not earned

According to Romer the wrapping paper was not for sale, but it was behind the counter so store employees could use it. Moreover, the NTR would have gotten only money for the use of the logo of the Sinterklaas Journal. The creator of the wrapping paper has paid nearly a thousand euros for it, says Romer. But according to the Commissioner does not matter how much the NTR earned.

The TROS received a few years ago 69,000 euro fine for the children’s television program The Fairytale Tree Party. That was according to the commissioner banned advertising for the Efteling. Same broadcaster had to pay 100,000 euros for the Bibaboerderij. The adventures of Bart farmer, farmer Bibi Viva Scarecrow, the Dida Mesozoa, Giga Vegetables and Fifafruitjes were seen as surreptitious for C1000
