Kendrick Lamar has broken a Spotify record with his album To Pimp a Butterfly . The new album from the rapper, released Monday, is the first day listened to 9.6 million times. That Spotify has announced on Twitter

The album Lamar (27) Monday came a week earlier than scheduled from. Fans thought it was a mistake, but Sony did later that it was a publicity stunt. The old record was held according to Billboard in the name of Michael Buble. The singer released a Christmas album in late 2011, but it is not known how often that album is listened to on the first day
