The French film La Famille Bélier find the perfect cross between comedy and drama. Think of it to keep even dry
.
In this French megahit you especially not think too much. Then the clichés perhaps fall and that would be a shame, because this delicious spring film may not deserve the prize for originality, he gets a lot of strings. And hard too.
All members of the family are deaf Bélier except daughter Paula (Louane Emera). They therefore play a crucial role in family life on the farm. On the way to school they call suppliers and doctor visits she is an indispensable bridge to the hearing world.
Paula also shows great to sing. Her music teacher (Eric Elmosnino) wants her to audition for doing a training in Paris, which he saddles his pupil with a difficult dilemma. She continues her family loyalty or she chases after her own dreams for the future?
The film finds the perfect cross between comedy and drama. Paula’s parents behave like characters in a silent film, especially Karin Viard as mother Gigi sounds very good. For an hour she makes with her grotesque game for one laugh after another, to break up a grandiose manner during the key stage.
Then at birth revealed that Paula could hear motions Gigi, she was sad. She feared that she and her daughter would never understand one another. Paula are thinking of going to Paris, sees them as confirmation of that suspicion, and that of her failure.
Only when mom and dad their daughter finally see action and see how they totally absorbed in what they does, the emotion that seems to evoke her voice to the public, they start to get it.
Louane Emera, just eighteen years, is a huge talent. Both introverted and expressive, both jerk windy as budding adolescent woman. During one of her songs she not only sings, but she gestures at the same time the text to her parents in the stands. See it but keep even dry
