THE HAGUE Whoever by musicians live want to nod off to sleep can before April 25 visit during a ‘Sleepover Concert’ in Scheveningen Lourdes Church. Socks creeping musicians play the visitors asleep with hypnotic night pieces including Vivaldi’s violin concerto La notte and Borodin’s Notturno. After midnight, the heating is put extra high.
The music will not stop until everyone is in dreamland. The next morning the musicians wake the sleepers with “fresh exciting music.” The sleeping concert is part of the Chamber Music Festival The Hague, which takes place later this month for the twelfth time. Five days are long in many different venues concerts, of homes in Scheveningen to the New Church in The Hague.
The theme is water, allowing visitors during the night concert also hear improvised water sounds. “The sound of water has a calming effect”, said a spokesperson. There is room for sixty sleepers, who own their mattress and sleeping bag to take along.
