Concert on the Amstel closes Liberation – Telegraaf.nl

AMSTERDAM –

The traditional 5 meiconcert the Amstel River in Amsterdam on Tuesday night came to an end Liberation. This liberation concert was the final chord of a day full of performances by artists across the country

The concert on the Amstel at Carré was attended by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima. Even Princess Beatrix and Prime Minister Mark Rutte were present.

On the stage were performances of Herman van Veen, Claudia Breij and Giovanca, especially for the concert, wrote new songs. They were accompanied by the National Youth Orchestra. “Freedom celebrate and transmit the lessons of the past” is the common message of the soloists. “We can be who we are, singing, dancing, say what we want and if we want to remain silent.”

The concert started just after 21:00 pm and ended about an hour later, as every year We’ll meet again Ross Parker and Hughie Charles. The royal guests perform this song in a boat away, while the audience sang along and applauded. They were waved through seventy-70s, which formed a line along the water with a torch in hand. This year marks the seventy years since the Netherlands was liberated
