No timetable, no mainstage, no wifi and even no telephones. The festival Beyond that soon will be organized near Amsterdam, is unlike other festivals

We prefer to speak not of a festival

“It’s called Beyond, because with this festival people want to step outside their comfort zone,” says Amsterdam artist Dadara, real name Daniel Rozenberg. Dadara is creative director and along with Eileen Azad creator of the festival. “We have the same motive as the organizers of the American festival Burning Man, which is connecting people.”

However, there are a lot of differences with the floating festival held each year in the Nevada desert. Dadara “We get a Losing Point: a place where you knowingly lose your friends so you can get to know other people. You can then to Rent a Friend, where you can rent a friend for a few hours. Maybe make you friends for life. ”

Upon entering, visitors have their own passport with which they are resident of Beyond, or ‘part of the community, “as Dadara calls it. After the festival events will come where you can only go with this passport. “This keeps the community grow.”

The artist is annoyed by the use of mobile phones at festivals. “The idea is that your mobile home late, everyone else is watching constantly on display. Then the visitors do not experience what is happening around him. At the festival is no free wifi, but free Hufi (Human Fidelity). ”

Here and now live
There will be no timetable, because no matter who according Dadara occur and at what time. “People are just in time engaged in daily life. They may just mine the experience here and now. Why is there no main stage, because you are one with all visitors to artist watching. We just want everyone to feel equal and people connect with each other.
