Book Week opens with ‘crazy’ Boekenbal – Telegraaf.nl

AMSTERDAM –

With a performance by writer Dimitri Verhulst’s Friday night at the City Theatre in Amsterdam kicked off the eightieth edition of the Book Week. During the opening of the “insane” Boekenbal sang the 42-year-old Fleming with Willeke Alberti (70) the duet ‘Together’

.

Verhulst, dressed in psychedelic suit, it was the first time the Boekenbal. It’s a party where “you cynical about impossible to do,” he said. “Many writers are risking their lives to write books.”

As the author of the Cloisonne this year he was guest of honor at the literary party, which many famous authors entered the red carpet. Among others Kader Abdollah, Connie Palmen, Joost Zwagerman and Heleen van Royen had himself dressed up for the prom, where 1,200 guests were invited.
