AMSTERDAM – The 23rd edition of the Fashion Week in Amsterdam attracted around 25,000 fashion lovers. That made the organization announced on the last day of the fashion event.
The Fashion Week, which had both a summer and winter edition began on July 3 with the public program 10 Days Downtown, with ten days various events throughout the city. Last Thursday began the catwalk shows for professionals in the fashion industry. Designer Monique Collignon here made an official comeback after they went bankrupt two years ago. She showed up on opening night her haute couture collection for spring and summer of 2016 and Sunday were seen her portable ‘light’ couture designs. Stood further shows of the clothing Oilily, Spijkers en Spijkers, Jonathan Christopher and Tony Cohen on the program.
The ‘Political Catwalk’ Sunday was special. Youngsters designed outfits for this for politicians, who then also showed on the catwalk. Among others MEP Paul Tang (PvdA) and MPs Wassila Hachchi (D66), Martijn van Helvert (CDA) walked along.
Special guest was Monday supermodel Doutzen Kroes, who attended a show of Spanish María Cle Leal .
On the Fashion Week last January about 25,000 visitors came off. The next edition is scheduled for 8 to January 18, 2016
