The sale of e-books has grown strong in the first half of this year. There were a quarter sold more copies than the same period last year, reported the Dutch Central Book House (CB) today.
The number of e-books which was settled in the Dutch-speaking region amounted to nearly 1.3 million. Meanwhile completed 6 percent of books sold an e-book. In online sales, the share digital publications even almost 28 percent.
One of the reasons why e-books are becoming more popular is the low price. The CB has calculated that in recent years they have become relatively much cheaper. Took an e-book in 2010 84 percent of a physical book, now it is less than 60 percent.
