MBO students receive from next school a pass allowing them discount to get tickets for cultural institutions or events. According to Minister of Culture Jet Bussemaker is art and culture just for professionals’ indispensable to be innovative and creative in their work.

The Ministry of Culture and Education, the next four years, 1 million annually available for so-called MBO Card. MBO students get this example discounted access to the Anne Frank House and the Parade. HAVO and VWO students in high school have years of such discount card.

Minister Bussemakerhuis says that arts and culture are an important addition to the vocational education, “especially at a time of technological change.” By visiting shows and concerts, or even play an instrument, according to its professionals would be more innovative.

The card is a collaboration between the Ministry, the cultural youth pass (CJP) and the Vocational Youth Organisation ( JOB), which defends the interests of vocational students. According to the MBO JOB card leads to a better quality of vocational training. JOB chairman Michael Steegers:

“If you’re 17 and you’re in VWO, there are money and resources for arts and cultural education available. Are you as old, but you’re on the MBO, there is nothing. While art and culture can make a very good contribution to the quality of our vocational schools. This initiative of the Minister this will change and we are very happy “
