A man claims singer Sam Smith the idea for the mega hit ‘Stay With Me’ has stolen from him. That TMZ reports today.
One Hapler Mark says that he recorded a demo in 1986 of a song with the title Do not Throw Our Love Away. This song begins with the phrase “stay with me.” Based on this, Mark concludes that the British singer-songwriter stole the song from him.
TMZ is clearly not impressed by the story. According to the logic used by Hapler, he has his demo namely also singled, but then of The Supremes. In their song Baby Love (1964), the three ladies sing several times ‘do not throw our love away’.
Halper incidentally should not press charges against Smith knows the entertainment site. He is targeting a number of record companies. The man wants to include the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awards him a Grammy.
