How do providers and TV channels on a la carte? – Total TV

July 13, 2016

Media Minister Sander Dekker has a plan
presented in which providers have the opportunity to have a smaller
 digital package to consumers
 to offer.

In addition to a smaller digital basic package must for
consumers will be possible to additionally itself of channels with additional channels
put together according to the a la carte principle. This may at station level
additional subscriptions decreased. Consumers only pay for
additional channels where one looks at. One misconception is that all channels
can determine whether one there to subscribe. Digital package
Although decreases but continues to looks now exist. Look
We then see the online TV service KNIPPR note that the number of stations in the
digital basic package is halved and that a price of eleven euros
per month to be paid. The question is how providers and channels
look at the a la carte Sander Dekker plan. Total TV did a
 tour among them.

Ziggo

Not only consumers but also suppliers are open to
a la carte TV. However, according to them, the Dekker plan is still better
detailed and concrete. Ziggo spokesman Erik Doeselaar: “In the
market shows movement toward a la Carte packages. Minister facilitates this
now in legal frameworks with an intention to deregulation. We look – naturally
in consultation with broadcasters and channels – the opportunities this gives for another
model. Still nothing concrete. We are therefore not a priori against this
 amendment of the State. “

KPN

Also at KPN, according to spokesman Stijn Wesselink: “We
are in favor of freedom of choice for our customers and try there too so
possible to play with our services. For instance, consider
the introduction of Play (no internet subscription required) and the
integration of Netflix in our TV platform, two innovations in TV area where
customer choice is a key driver. We will therefore always
continue to look at how we can make it as attractive as possible selection
for customers, while we also watch as much as possible freedom of choice. We
However, some tied to the ‘must carry’ obligations by the government
and agreements with content providers. Or are we going to change our choice of channels
 n.a.v. this announcement is premature
 - The room must still decide and the legislation still
be changed – but we obviously monitor developments closely. But
We are therefore in favor of freedom of choice for our customers. “

NLkabel

NLkabel brach is the organization of cable operators in
Nederand. Mathieu Andriessen on presented a la carte plan: “We
respond positively to the plans. The cable industry sees the plan as a step
the right direction. The deletion of the legally minimum of 30 stations
a logical step. There are however more unnecessary rules in the Media Act, we see
as a first step towards further liberalization. “

SBS Broadcasting

Not only providers and consumers, but also transmitters
party plans to subscribe to enable each channel. Jaap Paulsen,
spokesperson for SBS Broadcasting: “The letter is all that is not a la cart
is mandatory. It also appears that it is part of a broader discussion
on broadcasting distribution that runs for a long time and has many complications, too
for the viewer. Dekker indicates that this discussion will be completed this year
is part of a broad review in which the issue of
diversity of supply and the function that the current standard
plays, is included and also elaborates on the possible
effects on the current position of transmitters and providers. In this regard,
 news now quite premature. “

RTL Netherlands

RTL Netherlands late Total TV know that the letter of
Media Secretary to the study is. The media company does not expect
rather than tomorrow with a come substantive response

Just another quasi-liberal proposal. I’m not waiting here. At the option of fast Internet only am I required to purchase TV or Internet only pay the prize. Maybe there’s look at …

We leave everything in the old because everything is already uncomfortable now
like Caway AND WITHOUT participation agreement
with the customer FIX your own rules.
     and only raise prices
     and the quality and service
     leave behind

Private packet composing means only smaller pakkettetjes. Package with the FOX channels (Fox, Fox Live, 24 Kitchen etc), music channels, RTL channels, Regionalen). All those individual parcels will soon be more expensive than the Plus package now. This is really a dumb plan.

Excellent plan. Please let the viewer to create their own package without obligation. Why should determine a cable owner you are looking at? A very outdated construction relating to me.

It would not be me surprised if KPN & amp; Ziggo & amp; other providers return the package to the eight mandatory channels for a minimal reduction of the subscription fee. RTL will require consumers to purchase a package containing 4578 RTL Crime Lounge tele kids etc.

If this would happen later than Netflix and other providers such as Netflix the laughing third.

Good plan. Only the & quot; EN & quot; channels (10 & amp; Atilde; & amp; iexcl; 11 units) in the basic package.
     decide remainder themselves.

This plan makes watching TV only get more expensive. Stupid plan.

RTL4 and SBS6 finance the rest of their channels so which are then disposed of, remains happy little about what one really wants to pay.

    Mario Zaanstad

Or opt for the P * LP channels 4576 & amp; 9 but no NPO 12 & amp; 3. That says enough to me how low TV watching Netherlands has dropped. Just stay nice FL * looking T programs!

Fear the worst the large and small com broadcasters RTL and SBS in particular will lose viewers
you will soon have eight base stations for a lower amount but the rest you have to buy
then hangs on RTL and SBS NETHERLANDS GROUP also a price tag
you want to receive more channels than you certainly very expensive bowl out
and instead of an average of 15 per package now for 30 channels will definitely go to 50!
     RTL FREE Forget it!

A package with RTL 4, 5 and 7 and SBS 6 and 9, Boomerang TV Discovery and NGC
     That’s enough.
The rest of the fun stations are free to receive satellite (Thor 5 + Hotbird + Astra 2)
