His directorial debut "Or horses and men 'is economical with words and generous with images. Erlingsson portrays the inhabitants of a vast valley. They inhabit, but keep each with binoculars watched. His entertaining movie leverages the desolate landscape and the photogenic qualities of the Icelandic paardenras.De human characters are just as colorful. They play in anecdotes about timid loves, unquenchable thirst and the inevitable frictions in a small community. Their stoicism horses seem mutually entangled in these narratives often the wiser party.
