Dumas was born in 1953 in South Africa and has lived and worked since 1976 in the Netherlands. She is best known for her paintings which she often responds to current events. Until Sunday, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam to see a retrospective of her work. Partly because of the great interest that the museum exhibition is heading off on an attendance of 800,000. That’s the highest since the opening of the museum in 1895.
