Interview As a child, he locked himself in his room to rotate pictures. Starting Thursday, he is back for six days locked in the Glass House. Radio DJ Gerard Ekdom distracting music. On the eve of his eighth stay at the Glass House proposes Ekdom the AD soundtrack of his life together.

Ekdoms youth took place largely in Bilthoven, where his parents had a florist. ,, My father drove at half five to auction. And my mother was often busy in the case. Through the City Broadcasting Utrecht and New Dance Radio came Ekdom 1998 contact 3FM, a night program for DJ talents . His first record on that station: Love in an elevator of Aerosmith.

When Stilob Ekdom got to know a girl. They started dating, moved in together, get married. And divorced within three months. ,, Let her but Mrs. X call. It has been a huge mistake, I learned a lot from that. Especially that you never have to continue to do things out of habit, because you think it should be so. We had six years of a relationship, it was logical to marry. You’re early 20s and think, each set will probably have as much hassle as we do. Not so. We got married in August 2001 in Bilthoven, where we lived well. My parents were heavily against it; my mom went all dressed in black. Afterwards I had an awful lot of fun with them there, but then I thought, ma, what do you make of me. She even wore a black hat. They saw that they did not suit me, but I had to come back there myself.

In the period after his divorce was Ekdom by everyone and everything taken in tow. So he ended up with his 3FM colleague Rob Stenders at a party in Almere, someone they both did not know well. ,, Rob and I agreed: if one of us panicked look, we’re gone. I was standing at the bar and thought, I know no one here at all. But there was one very hot chick: blond hair, red coat, she wore something with spaghetti straps.
