Occasionally they may help with the cows the men's work. And her rebellious grandfather, whom she apparently has the genes, sometimes takes her along to the local pub to eat ice cream. Everything is supposedly sinful, such as fairy tales and books, says Catherine highly, but she does not hate her family, instead.
Weddings
The young actress Purses Nieuwerf plays Catherine phenomenal in the light-hearted drama Dorsvloer full of confetti, to the book of Franca Treur. Catherine is a spirited girl who observes the world critically. Together with her brother Christian (nicely played by Yannick de Waal) dreams of a future in Canada. When her brother is forced to marry a girl from the village, Catherine feels more intense how Zeeland her stuffy life.
Director Tallulah Schwab, for whom this is her first feature film, paints a beautiful and true image of a reformed community. Her film is funny and respectful at the same time. Add to that the dreamy images of the Zeeland countryside and the excellent cast and you have a more than successful debut feature
