The hit film Mees Kees camp that was selected for the competition, did not go empty-handed. The Dutch youth film was the audience award at the German festival. For Boys is not the first big festival where production falls in prices. Earlier, the youth drama won statuettes at the Zlin Festival in the Czech Republic and received a standing ovation at the Giffoni International Film Festival in Italy.
Boys tells about two 15-year-old runners who fall in love. The leading roles are played by Gijs Blom and Ko Zandvliet. Mees Kees at camp is the second in a series of successful film versions of the books by author Mirjam Oldenhove on a timid intern who tries to save before his class.
