EYE Film Museum runs from 10 October all 13 films of Theo van Gogh. In a number of shows are cast and crew present, the museum announced on Monday.
Van Gogh was in the last years of his life, known as a critic of Islam. EYE emphasizes this retrospective precisely the qualities of Van Gogh as a filmmaker and film lover. He made between 1981 and 2004, 13 feature films, with which he was one of the most prolific Dutch filmmakers.
Theo van Gogh made films in various genres, from early black and white films Luger and Charley to literary film A Day to the beach, back to Oegstgeest and extraneous light. From its small-scale, independent productions 06, Blind Date and Interview after his death made American remakes.
It is on 2 November exactly 10 years ago that the columnist, interviewer and filmmaker was murdered. EYE therefore exhibits not only movies but also runs four of his favorite classics: Salo, Do not Look Now, A Clockwork Orange and Repulsion
