The Mauritshuis has less than seven weeks after the reopening over 100,000 visitors welcome.
For the closure in 2011 the Mauritshuis, an average of 5,000 visitors per week. After re-opening on June 27, the average is 16,000 per week. The family Grist from the English York was put in the spotlight Monday as 100,000 visitors.
“In the opening year of course you expect more visitors than in a normal year, where we assume at least 250,000 visitors,” says Victor Moussault, the business director of the Mauritshuis. “The reopening has received many national and international attention and people are curious about the result. But we have received in such a short time over 100,000 visitors exceeds our expectations. “
